"Elder Wisdom"
(Native American Proverb) An elder Cherokee man was teaching his grandchildren about life.
He said, "There is a terrible fight in me between two wolves.
One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, pride, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies and superiority. The other wolf represents joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, kindness, friendship, empathy, truth, compassion and faith. The same fight is going on inside of you and everyone else." The grandchildren thought for awhile and one asked, "Grandfather, which one will win?' He answered, "The one you feed." |
